Not quite sure which player (lower right corner) bit the dust when running through the banner, but a few of us moms in the stands were relieved when we realized it wasn't one of our son's!

We played North Union. Our boys played very well! That Cooley boy played well. And he got a lot of playing time, too! He played mostly on offense. But did manage to get a few plays in on defense. When asked, he'll tell you he likes to play on defense better.

As I said, the boys played very well, and honestly, toward the end of the game, the NU boys were starting to play a little dirty. I'm sure they were just frustrated, as we beat the snot out of them 33-0!!!

Football practices and games have gotten better...much better than in previous weeks. Not sure what changed in our coach's heart, but he's coaching more fairly now. A lot of the parents have noticed a huge difference in the boys and how they react to him, so it's all good. However, there is always at least one parent who, no matter how much their kid gets to play, is never satisfied. I, on the other hand, am trying desperately to improve my attitude toward the entire Colt Football experience. It's not easy to do, but I owe it to my kid, to keep my mouth shut, and just let him play the game!! It is, after all, his team, his playing, and his attitude that matters.

Sarah did a fantastic job cheering the JV boys on to victory!! I can't believe just how much better she is doing this year. When the girls did their little half time dance number, Sarah was front & center on the 50 yard line, doing her thang!! Last year, while she had fun, she was just as content to "hide" in the back row, and "blend in" with the other girls. This year...she wants to be seen and heard by golly!! She even received a special treat from her coaches yesterday. At each game, the coaches will choose 2 girls who have shown the most team spirit, and they receive a little goody bag & a balloon. Sarah was on cloud 9!!

Next week's game is also at home. We play Elgin at 2pm. I have to work the concession stand from 1-4, so I'll miss the game. If you can, stop by and enjoy a great game and some side line entertainment!! GO SCOTS!!
